EXACTLY WHAT YOU WANTED

Ever since AT THE POINT DINER was established in 2025 after taking over JOHN & ELAINE'S, our focus has always been to serve what our customers want, exactly when and how they want it. As the American dining culture shifts, we recognize we must strive to recreate the 1950 renaissance that birthed the diner as we know it today, all the while preserving the historical and cultural identity that made Diners the model all others hope to emulate.

By constantly evolving, we ensure our ability to provide a diverse menu of high quality options with the speed of service we’ve all become accustomed to, providing the uniquely satisfying experience synonymous with the 39°north Diner name. Our hope is that we can grow as our clients do, and continue to serve both our Manahawkin family, and our community at large.

OUR CHEF / FOUNDER

Born in Peru and forged in the fire of New York City’s culinary scene, Chef diego is a disruptive force redefining what it means to cook with purpose, precision, and passion. Trained in the cultural crossroads of Lima and NYC, diego brings a bold, boundary-pushing approach to global cuisine—merging deep-rooted Peruvian heritage with international technique and street-smart innovation.

From gritty diners to the kitchens of the world’s most luxurious resorts, diego's career spans continents and classes, always with one mission: to shake up the status quo. With a style that’s unorthodox yet unforgettable, this chef isn’t just serving food—his dishes are telling stories, challenging traditions, and turning every plate into a conversation.

Whether reimagining comfort food or deconstructing haute cuisine, Chef diego delivers an experience that’s raw, refined, and radically different.
